From Uncertainty to Runway: Clair’s Journey Through the Brand Launch Academy
When Clair first started experimenting with leathercraft, it was never meant to become a business. She loved making bags and got great feedback at local fairs — but like so many aspiring creatives, she didn’t know how to turn that passion into a professional brand.
She didn’t join the Brand Launch Academy because she had it all figured out.
She joined because she didn’t — and she wanted to do it right.
Here’s how Clair went from feeling overwhelmed and unsure to confidently launching her fashion brand… and seeing her work featured at London Fashion Week.
What inspired you to join the Brand Launch Academy?
“I wanted to get started, but I just didn’t know how. I needed something that would guide me through the process, not overwhelm me. The Academy gave me the confidence to just go for it.”
Clair was ready to take things more seriously — but she wasn’t sure where to begin. She had ideas, a creative spark, and bags people loved… but no clear brand identity, strategy, or business plan. What she needed wasn’t more YouTube tutorials. It was a clear, structured roadmap.
What were your main concerns before joining?
Like many early-stage designers, Claire worried she didn’t know enough.
Would she really be able to design a cohesive collection? How do you price handmade products properly? What even is a brand?
“I wasn’t sure if I had a design voice. I didn’t know how to pull everything together or price it properly. I needed something that helped me build step by step.”
How did the Academy help you through that uncertainty?
The Brand Launch Academy is structured to guide students through every stage — from idea to brand launch — without the overwhelm.
“It just gently leads you from one step to another… so it never feels really overwhelming. Each module builds on the one before. And by the end, it really comes together.”
Clair loved that she didn’t need to rush or figure it all out at once. The pace allowed her to reflect, experiment, and gain clarity at every stage.
What impact did the community have?
“It was so encouraging to be surrounded by people going through the same process. And Bex was always there — so knowledgeable and friendly. You never felt silly for asking questions.”
Being part of a group of fellow creatives — all at different stages but all moving in the same direction — gave Clair a sense of support and momentum she hadn’t found elsewhere.
What did you walk away with?
By the end of the Academy, Clair had built her brand from the ground up.
“I came out with a name, a logo, a website address, a clear design voice, and the confidence to move forward. It was all in one place — I didn’t need to piece it together from random sources.”
And she didn’t just gain knowledge — she gained clarity.
“Yes, I have a brand. Yes, I know how to price it. And yes — I’m ready.”
Where is she now?
Clair’s bags were recently showcased as part of a collective at London Fashion Week. She’s confidently marketing and selling her pieces and continues to grow her brand, her way.
Her advice to anyone considering joining?
“Definitely do it. Don’t waste two years trying to piece it together from the internet. You’ll come out of the Academy knowing you’ve done everything you can to set yourself up for success.”
