When Monika joined the Brand Launch Academy from Australia, she wasn’t sure if she truly had what it takes to launch her own brand.
Now? She's designing bags she’s proud of, selling to customers who truly get her work, and confidently calling herself a fashion brand founder.
We sat down with Monika to talk through her journey, doubts, breakthroughs — and what she’d tell anyone thinking about joining the Academy.
🌟 What made you want to join the Brand Launch Academy?
Monika:
Living in Australia, it’s hard to find proper training or mentorship in both bag making and launching a fashion brand. Everything felt really fragmented — and most of the manufacturing is now offshore here, which adds another layer of distance.
I’d done a one-on-one session with Bex while visiting the UK, and I remember thinking, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
So when I heard about the Brand Launch Academy, it felt like the natural next step.
🌟What were you worried about before signing up?
Monika:
Honestly… that I wouldn’t be good enough.
There are so many brands out there — I wondered how I could ever compete. Who would want to buy my bags? Could I actually do this?
🌟How did the course help with those doubts?
Monika:
It really helped me slow down and take things one step at a time.
The content is laid out in such a methodical, practical way — it walks you through every phase of setting up a brand: from legal and financial foundations to design, marketing, and launch planning.
What made it so powerful was that Bex isn’t just a teacher — she’s done this herself. That gave me the reassurance I needed. It reminded me that there is space for each of us — and the key is finding where your space is.
🌟What was the community aspect like?
Monika:
Beautiful. I was surprised by how connected I felt, even from Australia. The time zone difference didn’t matter — the group Zoom sessions were scheduled really thoughtfully, and there was never pressure.
We were all different — different countries, different ideas, different goals — but the same heart. It was such a safe, encouraging space, and Bex really fostered that. We weren’t competing, we were cheering each other on.
🌟What part of the course impacted you most?
Monika:
The marketing side, for sure. That’s never been my strength, and it honestly scared me. But the way it was broken down — with tools and templates and real examples — it made it manageable.
Also, the interviews with people in the industry were so inspiring. It reminded me that success doesn’t have one shape.
🌟Did you take part in the in-person intensive?
Monika:
Yes — and it was incredible.
By that point, I’d worked through my designs and business plan, but being in the studio with Bex and the others made it all feel real.
I worked harder than I probably ever have — but I expected to. It was an investment in me.
And Bex made the whole experience feel so special. She’s encouraging, hands-on, and completely invested in helping you succeed.
🌟What have you achieved since completing the Academy?
Monika:
So much.
-
I now believe I belong in this space.
-
I’ve gained the technical skills to develop my products with more confidence.
-
I know what I want to make — and who I’m making it for.
-
And I feel proud when I look at my work.
🌟 What would you say to someone who's considering joining?
Monika:
If you're sitting there thinking, “I’d love to, but I don’t know how — or if I’m good enough,”
…just back yourself.
This course gives you real-world business tools, but also the kind of support and belief that’s so rare. You’ll come away with knowledge and clarity.
It’s not just about launching a brand — it’s about becoming someone who truly believes in their ability to make it happen.
